General Practice

General Consultations

Our general consultations cover the full breadth of what a family GP provides — same-day care for acute illness, ongoing chronic disease management, preventive health screenings, in-office minor procedures, and routine immunisations for adults and children. Dr Xopa takes the time to listen, examine carefully, and develop a personalised treatment plan, serving as your primary healthcare partner across every stage of life.

Common Questions About General Consultations

We accept both. However, we recommend booking an appointment to minimise your waiting time. Walk-in patients are welcome and will be seen based on clinical urgency and availability.
Yes. General consultations include ongoing management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, thyroid disorders, HIV care, and autoimmune conditions. We work alongside South African medical aid Chronic Disease List (CDL) benefits and assist with chronic care authorisations.
Yes. Routine health screenings — including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, BMI, cardiovascular risk assessment, and basic or executive blood panels — are part of our general consultations. Results are reviewed with you in a follow-up visit.
Yes. In-office minor procedures such as wound suturing, abscess drainage, mole removal, ingrown toenail care, and wound dressing are routinely performed during general consultations. More complex procedures are referred to the appropriate specialist or facility.
Yes. Routine adult immunisations and seasonal booster reviews are part of our general consultation service. Dr Xopa reviews your immunisation history and advises on what is appropriate for your age, health, occupation, and lifestyle.
Yes. We accept most major South African medical aids and can submit claims electronically on your behalf. Private-paying patients receive a detailed invoice for tax or gap-cover claims.
A standard consultation is approximately 15–20 minutes. Complex cases — multiple chronic conditions, executive health screenings, minor procedures — may require a longer appointment, which you can request when booking.
Our practice is run by Dr Xopa, so you will always see the same doctor. This ensures excellent continuity of care across acute, chronic, and preventive visits.
